My Happy List

A great weekend all around, we went back to my hometown for a few days and it was so good to see my parents and sister, and catch up with our dear friends! Sunday was the Race for the Cure event and although I was planning on running it, my injury has been flaring up so I decided to take it easy instead.

It was such an honor to participate in this event in celebration of my aunt, a breast cancer survivor.

There was an estimated 10,000 people walking, running, and wheeling along!
My friend Julia and her dad joined us, they walked in memory of her great aunt.
There were so many people, it was nearly impossible to power walk, so we kept pace with the crowd.
Finish line in 1 hour and 1 minute! It was a cold morning, but I was just thankful it didn't snow!

  3. hooray! the race for the cure is such a wonderful event - the feeling there is amazing - of hope, comraderie, and shared experience. i laughed about the just keeping pace with the crowd part because it is so true! :) it was so packed, we were just shuffling along, but the sea of people supporting the cause really is inspiring!
