One Sweet Day: The Evening Comes to an End

With all the dancing and cake behind us, our last few hours were spent enjoying our guests!  My little cousin joined in on some dancing with the bridesmaids and I! We even formed a little conga line around the group!

We had bocce ball set up for guests!  The guys were having a blast seeing who could throw the farthest distance.

College roommates enjoyed and savored each others company.

The cowgirls set out for a horse ride along the country side.

Family friends shared lots of laughs!

A touching, heartfelt speech from my dear sweet cousin.

Guests signed our Polaroid guest book.

Our best man's parents relaxed and soaked up the country sun.

Bridesmaid Andrea's husband had fun taking pictures of our photographer!

My cousin, the little stud posed for the camera.

My family huddled together to take a huge group picture, already making plans for the next get together!

At the end of the evening, we hugged and kissed everyone one last time and thus began our journey as husband and wife.

One Sweet Day: Dances

Just as the sun was beginning to set, the time came for us to have our first dance as husband and wife. He picked our song, Lost in this Moment by Big & Rich.

The setting was so perfect, and when we danced, it felt like one else existed but he and I.

We reflected on how beautifully the ceremony turned out, and how much love and support we felt from the people in our lives so special to us.

Once our song was over, it was time for the Father-Daughter dance. My dad also chose this song, Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle.

Dad and I also talked about how beautifully the day turned out, how much he loves Steele and that he was so happy for us.

One Sweet Day: Cupcakes and Treats

We were ready to have some tasty treats which included cupcakes from a local bakery, and rice krispie treats and lemon bars made by his cousin and family.

But first things first, it was time to take care of business. I was up to serve him and I knew I was going in for the kill! He was laughing, saying "oh I don't think so!"
But I got him good :) Happy dance!

When it was his turn to give me the first bite, I held onto his arm for dear life, fighting off the same cupcake smashing in return!

But he was good and didn't get me too bad!

A quick kiss and then it was time to share the goodies!

One Sweet Day: Signed, Sealed, Delivered!

Once we finished eating it was time to make it official. We went inside the cabin and Eric was up first to sign our marriage certificate.

Up next was Steele, as I looked on.

I signed and filled out official information on the certificate.

My childhood friend, Andrea signed as our first witness.  She had married a couple years prior and I was honored to sign for their marriage!

Our best man, Austin (he and his wife are expecting their first baby this winter!) was our other witness.
We did it!

Our wedding bands and marriage certificate.

After a quick group hug Steele pinned me up and we were ready to go back out to join the party!

One Sweet Day: Reception

Our gracious friends, Gloria and Kevin, who let us have our wedding on their ranch had a local contact for two guys who were known for making killer pork roast. They had arrived early that morning and prepped for the fixings.

The pork had been roasting low and slow for several hours, and it was finally time to feast. With classic rock music playing in the background, our guests were invited to eat.  We had a buffet style reception and the party lined up to eat some good grub!  We served roasted pork, pasta salad, coleslaw, baked beans and fresh rolls.

Bride and Groom had the honor of breaking into the delicious spread!  And boy the bbq food did not disappoint!

Kevin doing some quality control!  He approved as well!

We found our seats and visited with loved ones. The weather couldn't have been more perfect - mid-70s with a slight breeze. The sun was shining and we laughed and shared stories, enjoying family, making new friendships and being reacquainted with old ones.

One Sweet Day: Family Pics!

After the ceremony and sharing a few quick minutes alone together, we headed out to the back of the ranch and took some family pictures. My family was up first, we couldn't stop giggling and laughing!

Next was his family, self-proclaimed as not the inlaws, but the "out"laws!

His niece was enjoying some time in front of the camera!

We took a big group shot, which included his aunt and uncle, who we consider parents as well.

His sister surprised me before the ceremony with a little treasure she'd been holding on to - his hospital bracelet from when he was born. I squealed with delight and immediately pinned it on my bouquet.
Steele took a couple shots with his guys
And they enjoyed teasing him and giving the newlywed a hard time!

My girls and I, just so happy and living in the moment.

With hearts full of joy, we headed back to join the party and ready to fill our tummies!
