I visited a podiatrist this morning about some severe pain I was having in what I thought was my achilles. Turns out my posterior tibial tendon is inflammed and I get to wear this boot for the next month. Yeehaw.

After some huffing and puffing this morning (and I'm not sure I got all of the pouting out quite yet), I've realized a few things.
1)I caught it early enough my excercising career is not over forever. One month of downtown is not the end of the world.
2) I have the best husband ever as he already has plans to set me up with some books to read for all my downtime and
3) After the tendon is healed (fingers crossed) I will get orthotics for my high arches which will hopefully prevent this from happening again. I teased my husband that we can be "Orthotics Twins" now (he has a pair for his flat feet).
Any good book recommendations?
You're bothy gimpy =) I'm sorry to hear about this, but glad that you should be in tiptop shape before too long.
ReplyDeleteHope you heal quickly!
ReplyDeleteI recommend the True Blood books. They aren't freaky or anything, just plain fun! Start from the beginning and you'll get sucked right in!
Also, nervous might be fun for a month of downtime!
Darn this auto correct spelling! I meant to say NetFlix lol.
ReplyDeleteThis boot look very cool! Wishing you speedy recovery!
ReplyDeletewow - that's quite a boot! sorry about your injury - it stinks to get derailed from your workout program. but it's good that you know what's up so that you can have success in the future. hope your recovery is speedy!
ReplyDeletei capture the castle by dodie smith is a fun read, that i recently finished. a kind of coming of age type book.
Sorry to hear about the injury! But like you said - at least it will be more temporary since you caught it earlier.

ReplyDeleteThat injury doesn't sound too fun. I have a high instep too, maybe I should make sure I get inserts?
ReplyDeleteAs for books, I'm reading Eat Pray Love right now, and I'm a little behind on this bandwagon, but I love it. I'm waiting until I'm done reading it to see the movie.
Hope your foot feels better soon!
Hey, I'm putting a care package in the mail today!
