And to top it off, husband randomly brought this inside - apparently it was also hiding in the tomato garden!
WTF is it? Is Shrek living in my garden?!? Is this why we have had an abundance of tomatoes??
I didn't want to deal with it today, so instead I baked.
(White) Chocolate Chip Cookies
recipe from here
2/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup butter (or you can use margarine)
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 bag chocolate chips (I used white chocolate)
Cream butter, shortening, and sugars together. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. Add soda, salt, and flour and mix until combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Bake at 375 on an ungreased cookie sheet for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
It looks like a squash. Sounds like you guys will be making salsa to send as Christmas gifts this year. =D
ReplyDeleteI have to say I'm jealous. Our tomatoes gave out at the end of July. We're back to paying the grocery man for them =(
I found out it is an acorn squash! There's a recipe that has it prepared like a sweet potato, so I'm definitely going to have to try it out.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think the salsa idea is great! I've never canned before and this would definitely be a fun new hobby for me as well as a little homemade love we can send your guys' way :)
Yay! We had baked sweet potatoes for dinner last night. Squash can be so yummy...I may have to make a squash casserole next week now that I'm thinking of it.
ReplyDeleteI just confirmed our appointment on Monday with the photographer. SO EXCITED!!

MMMmmm look at all of those tomatoes! I always seem to have soooo many too but I love putting it up in forms of roasted whole, salsas and tomato sauce.
