These are both adorable and functional (since it would hide my back-fat).

Roses are red

Last night, we began putting together all of my ideas in Photoshop to create our *drumroll please* invites! (and by 'we', I really mean Percy. All I did was try to explain to him what was in my head.). I will post pictures of this process, pictures mostly of Percy frowning because he would rather be playing with the dogs or Wii. However, I will have to wait until AFTER they are mailed and all of our guests have received them in case one of them stumbles across this blog! I wouldn't want to ruin all the fun!

OAN, I couldn't leave you without some sort of pretty picture to drool over! That's why I LOVE this blog! Some of my faves include:

Who, me?

Hey, look what I won!

Thanks Mrs. CuppyCake! Check out cuppycake's awesome blog! I've made her vanilla bean cream cheese frosting and chocolate cupcakes. Okay, don't get me wrong - the cupcakes were delish, but OMG, the frosting! We ended up having it straight out of the bowl!

Firecracker Red

This weekend we went to the TC to visit my parents/sister and then later, Percy's best man (who's dating my old roommate, who started dating a week before Percy and I and who are on the brink of engagement, yay!). I love spending time with my family, 'specially when my Momma makes my favorite dish: Albondigas! Woot Woot! I had two servings by the way! She also let us have her Adobe Creative Suite so we can get started on those invites; I think they are going to be veddy veddy time consuming.

Over at the BMan's, their Shitzhu Violet just had puppies, one of which we will be picking up in two short weeks. We've named her Bailey and I really hope she fits in with our other two pups, Riley and Chloe. This was her at about 1 week old, when we'd gone to visit a few weeks back:
This was her this weekend, at about 3-4 weeks. What a lil' stinker! Too cute for her own good!photos by my better-half, Percy

Also this weekend, I got some wedding things accomplished! With the help of Weddingbee's Mrs. Daffodil and Miss Sushi, I ordered our envelopes and cardstock for the invitations from here and here! I'm so excited to get them in the mail! Firecracker Red, gotta love it!

Happy Monday!

snow, snow go away!

I'm going to take a break from my dress-venture series to finish up my love affair with Edward Cullen. I only have 100 pages left and then it's over. Dun. Dun. Dun.

I'm sure ready for that darn snow to melt, but it would be fun (and very cold, believe me - it was 25 out during our e-session!) to do this:

The dress-venture continues

The next wedding dress store I stopped at with an old roommate from college. They didn't allow pictures, but this was the top contender at the shop:

I loved, and I mean LOVED this dress. I was 95% positive I wanted this dress. Except the price. I was determined to keep looking, and if I didn't see anything else I loved more than this one, I told myself I'd be coming back to this shop and purchasing this lovely one.

The next wedding dress store I went with my mom and sister and they also did not allow pictures. It's a good thing because I don't think I would've taken any anyway. I told our attendant what I was looking for and she kept bringing me out the exact opposite, *shakes angry fist*! Like my first dress-venture experience, she too made inappropriate comments to me, these being about my lack of hips and how the shop had been having that issue with brides lately. And she felt the need to KEEP reminding me of this with every dress I tried on. COME ON, where's the good customer service people! Fortunately, my next stop would be my last!

Searching for my lovely!

BM kindergarden (can you believe we've known each other since we were 5?!) and I scheduled a play date to go try on wedding dresses at David's Bridal. Right off the bat, I knew I wanted a mermaid/trumpet gown (please, no poof for me) and something with either lace or bead work.

Although many of the dresses at DB were beautiful and even fit this criteria, I wasn't having that lovin' feelin' (hehe, now you're going to have that song stuck in your head!) with any that I tried on.

This dress and veil were my favorite at DB's. The only problem was that one of my friends got married the year before, and her dress looked very similar to this one. Looking back now, it sounds silly to me, but at the time I didn't want any resemblance to her or any other of my friends' dresses, I wanted my own (I can be such a poop!).

This was my second favorite. It was an unbelievably great price and very comfy! (btw, I have no idea who that child checking himself out in the mirror is)
At the time, we hadn't decided our venue so I was thinking I was going to wear these red heels. It'd be pretty stinkin' funny watching me walk down the grassy aisle in those stilettos! Some other dresses:
This dress made me feel like Wonder Woman. My mom LOVED this one. I think it looks like I'm floating.BM Kindergarden even tried on a few dresses herself!
Isn't she beautiful? :)
All pictures by BM Kindergarden (except the ones of her of course were taken by me).

I didn't have the greatest of customer service (let's just say I had some pretty inappropriate comments made by the employees. we'll leave it at that ;) so I didn't feel too bad when we left empty handed. Plus, this meant: MORE DRESS SHOPPING!

What a tease

Jenny sent us these from our e-session:

Finally Friday

Excuse my while I do a quick little jig around the room.

Hehe! I'm going to lounge in my sweats all day and fulfill my wedding needs! Plus, as if we haven't had enough snow this season, we're expected to have even more this weekend! I can't wait for spring. Then we can do fun things like this cute couple:

Perfect!

I've been saving cans and jars for about 5 months now, cutting my fingers while doing so and not really knowing how I was going to utilize them for the wedding until I saw this today:

Oh Once Wed, how I love you! Check out instructions here.

Check out this flower my BM Texas made for me!

Yay! I'm hoping to wear this for during the ceremony and switching over to Miss Erma for the reception. But, I need your help! I'm trying to decide whether I want to wear a birdcage veil or a long veil. I am so in love with both! I haven't been able to go back to visit my dress (I suppose that would be helpful, eh? More on the dress later) to see which would look better with it.

These brides totally rocked the birdcage, and I only hope to achieve one ounce of their style:

Capturing the Moment! part II

Our other option was Jenny Jimenez, who is based out of Seattle. Jenny had this incredible vibe about her the first time we chatted on the phone, which was like over an hour! I fell in love with her and her work (and her adorable pooches), and immediately booked Jenny for our big day! I mentioned earlier that she came out to shoot our e-session and I can hardly wait to get my hands on those photos! Aww Jenny, do I really have to wait?? Here are some of my favorite images:
